Are you Vata, Pitta or Kapha?

In Ayurveda, there are three Doshas: Vata, Pita and Kapha. By knowing your Dosha you will be able to learn more about your body; what type of food, exercise and routines that is best suited for you, in order to automatically gain good health and perfect body weight.

By doing this quick Dosha test you will find out your Dosha. This small test with only 11 questions will tell you if you are a Vata, Pitta or Kapha.

1. Skeletal structure

2. Work
a) Very fast
b) Effective, thorough
c) Slow, methodical

3. Mental function
a) Imaginative, quick thinking
b) Sharp intellect, make decisions easily
c) Stable, need time to think

4. New ideas
a) Curious, always testing new ideas
b) Accept new ideas after careful checking
c) Would rather wait, not impulsive

5. Temper
a) Shifting a lot
b) Hot temper
c) Stable, patient

6. Stress-reaction
a) Worry very easily
b) Easily irritated, angry and critical
c) Rarely worries

7. Skin
a) Dry
b) Soft and smooth, sometimes with freckles
c) Soft and smooth, sometimes oily

8. Sleep
a) 6 hours
b) 7-8 hours
c) At least 8 hours, heavy sleeper

9. Hunger/digestion
a) Irregular, forget to eat sometimes
b) Strong appetite/digestion, “Have to” have food

10. Feces

Now, it’s time to look at your answers that you have written on your paper.

How many times did you answer “a”, “b” or “c”?

If you got most “a” You are a VATA!
If you got most “b” You are a PITTA!
If you got most “c” You are a KAPHA!

If you get a result where two have the same highest score – do the test again and try to answer as truthful as you can. If you still get the same result this is not at all unusual. It just means that you have to consider both of the Doshas.
